Toronto, Canada - Electric Callboy rolled into Toronto’s Coca-Cola Coliseum on their Tanzneid World Tour and basically turned the whole place into a massive party, with Scene Queen and Polaris along for the ride. With their mix of metalcore and EDM chaos, this was never going to be a normal show and with a lineup like this, it felt more like a full night of controlled insanity than just another stop on a tour.
Scene Queen

Scene Queen and Polaris made for a wildly contrasting but equally effective lead up to Electric Callboy’s chaos. Scene Queen kicked things off with a hyper saturated throwback to MySpace era crunkcore, blending heavy riffs with bratty pop attitude in what she proudly dubs “bimbocore”, a mix of tongue in cheek energy, bright aesthetics, and unapologetic fun that instantly hooked the crowd.

Polaris

Polaris, on the other hand, brought things crashing back down to earth with a crushingly intense set, delivering tight, emotional metalcore with massive breakdowns and a level of raw energy that had the pit erupting early in the night. Together, they set the stage perfectly for the genre blurring spectacle that followed.

Electric Callboy

The genre blending German band formed in 2010, have built a reputation for fusing metalcore with electronic dance music into something that feels equal parts rave and breakdown heavy chaos, and seeing them live finally made it clear why they’ve blown up the way they have.
From the moment they hit the stage, the crowd decked out in neon like it was a full on EDM festival was pulled into one of the most immersive and high energy productions I’ve seen in a while, complete with insane strobes, massive lighting sequences, and confetti cannons firing like clockwork. Their set leaned heavily into that party atmosphere, feeling more like a rave than a traditional metalcore show, but the pits still hit hard when the heavier sections dropped.

What really stood out was how theatrical everything felt. The constant costume changes mirroring their music videos, a surprise acoustic version of “Fuckboi” performed in the middle of the pit with a piano and beautifully dialed in lighting, and even a standout drum solo from former Sum 41 drummer Frank Zummo. On top of all that, the band stayed incredibly connected with the crowd the entire time, making the whole set feel less like a performance and more like a shared experience.
