By: Jay Broderick - On June 1st, 2024, I headed to Toronto's summer concert amphitheatre Budweiser Stage to cover the Walk Off the Earth Tour for Corus Entertainment. On the bill that night was a pop-punk rocker from Pennsylvania named Taylor Acorn.
Three months shy of the singer's debut full length album Survival in Motion being released, her performance on that early summer evening was one that immediately left an impression. Her image, stage presence, and sound was that of a veteran songstress in her prime. The reality, however is that Taylor Acorn is just starting an ascent that is limitless. But don't take it from me. Fast forward 1 year later, and LoudTO's Michael Drukarsh also experienced this artist's flair during the 2025 All Your Friends Fest. "I was very impressed with the talent I covered, including three bands that really blew my mind (one being) Taylor Acorn," Drukarsh emphatically wrote in his coverage.
But like most musical journeys, Taylor hasn't been given a free pass. She has forged her craft for years, playing local bars and posting videos, endlessly pursuing her dream. A dream that is starting to become real. With rave reviews from her aforementioned debut, the vocalist has now released her highly anticipated follow up Poster Child, which was released on October 24, 2025. It's the first record the artist has released with her new record label Fearless Records. "Crashing Out", "Hangman" and "Goodbye, Good Riddance" are the first 3 tracks that had been released as singles from the album, and on release day, a fourth single "Home Videos" was released in line with the new record. The song brings such strong feelings of yesterday, and longing for our youth. Acorn shares that "'Home Videos’ is one of my favorites on the entire record. Growing up is such a privilege but at the same time I find it so weird how far away from our pasts we end up."
On November 4th, Taylor will hit the road on her own headlining tour, kicking things off in Boston, MA. The 24 date North American run will close off on December 6 in Cleveland, Ohio, but the wheels roll north of the border with 1 Canadian date only, and YES... it's right here in T.O! On November 11, Taylor Acorn will play Toronto's newest live music venue Annabel's Music Hall. I expect we'll be hearing a lot from Taylor as she starts her climb to stardom! Do yourself a favour and catch her in a much more intimate, 750 capacity concert venue, because at some point, she'll be playing Budweiser Stage on her own, and you'll be able to say "Man, I saw her at Annabel's in 2025!"
