By: Michael Drukarsh - As we enter into 2026, the world is in need of more music. To answer the call, Ryder has put out a live recording, Live From The Dark. This 9 track release, slated for February 13th, puts the listener face to face with the band out of Queens, New York.
The first thing one notices about the quality is that it sounds live, like kick you in the teeth live! This, as the band proudly brags, is because there are “no overdubs, corrections, or post-performance edits”. What you are getting with this release is pure Ryder as they perform in front of packed crowds in small clubs over four shows in 2025. Each track allows the listener to feel the vibe and energy of the different venues and to experience Ryder at their most authentic.

Relying heavily on cuts from their latest release Menagerie, Live From The Dark showcases the talents of the four piece band featuring lead singer and rhythm guitarist James Ryder, bassist and backup vocalist Rod Viquez, lead guitarist and vocalist Max Knight, and drummer Bill Peluso.
With technology available today to artists that allow them to have an entire production studio in their living room, it is refreshing to hear a band as they are, live and unedited. I, personally, would have loved to hear even more of the crowd, having seen them live at the Rockpile in Toronto, I know what an amazing reaction they got.
