By: Mike Johnston - Until recently, Burn’em Court has remained one of Peterborough’s best kept secrets. Now that the group’s budding library is finally on Spotify, the jig is up.
Tucked away in a basement, the group has been developing a uniquely aggressive and totally original sound. Burn’em Court recently culminated their library with their first EP, Burn Baby Burn. The raw, relentless pace offers a nod to the forefathers of rap/ metal, while lead singer Dave Clark provides a potent and original twist.
The group’s incendiary lead single perfectly sets the stage, before promptly
burning it down. “House On Fire” is pandemonious perfection. Burn’em climbs the walls in this aptly anthemic explosion, with grimy guitar riffs and complex, winding structures.
