Thames & Hudson to Publish 'Iron Maiden: Infinite Dreams - A Visual History' - Fall 2025

By: Jay Broderick - Iron Maiden... you will be hard pressed to run into anybody who has never heard of them. Even those who aren't familiar with the band's music, will at minimum have heard the band's name (and no, not only because they have heard of the Medieval torture device). Heck, even my mother was familiar with the band and their mascot Eddie (albeit, this was because of some negative publicity in Toronto in the 1980s, nothing of which had anything to do with the band themselves).

My first love for the band came via the greatest live album ever recorded (of all genres), 1985's Live After Death. Since that album, the band had become an undisputed favourite of mine, and to this day, they still sit in my Top 3 bands of all time. But it's not only myself who hold these East London, NWOBHM giants in high regard. They are one of the biggest bands of all time. While the band didn't release their first, self titled album until 1980, bassist Steve Harris did form the band in 1975. By my math, that's 50 years ago! And what better way to celebrate this impressive milestone, then to release a 50 year, hardcover, retrospective?

Publisher Thames & Hudson have announced Iron Maiden: Infinite Dreams - The Official Visual History. Set for Global release in the fall of 2025, this hardcover publication will unveil 50 years of Iron Maiden. Stories from the band's earliest bar gigs, through to the current Run For Your Lives World Tour, and everything in between are bursting at the seams of this 352 page monster. Infinite Dreams will contain artwork, stories of mascot Eddie's genesis, the band's elaborate stage setups, never before seen photographs, and tons (I mean TONS) of other cool shit!

“I’ve been pleasantly surprised at some of the stuff that I’ve managed to unearth for this book." says the band's founder, and bassist extraordinaire Steve Harris. "I knew I had kept a lot of things from the early days but they have lasted really well and the photography has brought them back to life. I hope the fans are going to love looking at all the stuff presented like this! It’s the right time to bring it all together for part of our 50th celebrations.”

Thames & Hudson Creative Director Tristan de Lancey promises "With astonishing archival access and more meticulous, hands-on participation from the band than I ever thought possible, we have been gifted the tools to create something beautiful, comprehensive and unique which, I have no doubt, raises the bar for illustrated books in this music genre."

The expectations for this collection are massive! From what I've seen so far, those expectations are well warranted! It's going to blow the minds of all Maiden fans, and as per de Lancey "- just don’t expect metal fans to be the only ones who buy it…!”

I say, at minimum, if you are a fan, you'll never forgive yourself for not grabbing yourself a copy. And so you can, by preordering at either of the links below (of which we DO NOT receive any kickbacks - we're just saving you the searching efforts.... cuz that's how we roll!):
