By: Jay Broderick - In 2022, SPIRITWORLD took our world by storm with the release of their sophomore album Deathwestern. With the band's brand of Wild West Heavy Metal, they had me hooked as soon as I heard it. And now, the band has unleashed their first new music since that second album, and the 2 minute assault will melt your face!
The Las Vegas group's newest track "Western Stars & The Apocalypse" was revealed today, and it is a scorching thrash metal/hardcore assault that will kick the ass of any fan of aggressive music.
The new track was written immediately upon returning home from the band's European tour with Agnostic Front, and despite the clear influences, SPIRITWORLD's founder Stu Folsom shares "I was revisiting a lot of Bob Dylan in my bunk on that tour and there is a nod to his song 'Desolation Row' in the lyrics." As for the newest animated music video, in speaking of the video's director Balázs Gróf, Folsom adds "I really love Gróf's work and I just turned him loose with the song. It’s a weird, spooky, animated trip through the underworld!"
PURE GOLD!!!
SPIRITWORLD founder, musician and author Stu Folsom, brought his vision to life with the band's debut album Pagan Rhythms, and subsequent follow up Deathwestern, that double as the soundtrack to his first published writing Godlessness. From a music standpoint, the band's thrash metal style is where my heart beats. It is fast, crunchy, and barbaric, yet somehow happy and calming!
With this new music video, 2025 looks like it's going to be a big year of new music from these Wild West Metal Heads.
